President and CEO of Translogistix
Mr. Lowe is the President and CEO of TransLogistiX and possesses over twenty five years of extensive experience in the transportation and delivery industry. Mr. Lowe’s extensive industry experience, coupled with a unique understanding of the integration of shipping services, make him an authority on the transportation and delivery needs of the Mid Atlantic area. Mr. Lowe’s background includes many examples of successful business growth and personal achievements. He began his career as a field manager for Falcon Express, a local and regional courier company. Throughout his tenure at Falcon, Mr. Lowe was successful in a variety of mission critical company functions including driver operations, dispatch, sales, and new business development.
Mr. Lowe quickly established himself as a business growth guru. After Falcon Express, in 1990 he became Manager of Operations at Mercury Express, Inc., a regional courier company specializing in same day deliveries. He managed operations and helped grow annual revenue from $450,000 to over $8 million in just 2 years.
In 1997, Mr. Lowe was hired by Legal Courier, Inc. a regional courier company specializing in same day deliveries within the legal industry. Mr. Lowe served as General Manager and quickly began expanding service types and areas. In 2000 Mr. Lowe received 50% ownership as part of an executive employment agreement, and in 2003 he purchased the remaining 50%. In 2004, Mr. Lowe directed an ‘upgrade’ to the Legal Courier corporate name and brand. The company name was changed from Legal Courier to TransLogistiX, which more accurately reflected the company’s comprehensive transportation and logistics services developed under Mr. Lowe’s control. Mr. Lowe has served on various trade associations and currently sits on the board of directors of several local corporations. Mr. Lowe attended The The University of Maryland and has completed numerous executive seminar courses.
Chief Operating Officer
Kevin hails from Massachusetts. He is a Graduate from Norwich University with a BA in History and an Associates in Criminal Law. He is also a graduate of Elmira College with a Master of Science in Adult Education and a Master Certified Trainer of Trainers.
He served as an Officer in the US Army from 1981 to 1992. Upon his departure from the military, he worked for Herman's Sporting Goods and Circuit City as a General Manager and Division Manager. In 1998, he joined Staples, Inc., holding various positions ranging from Store District Manager to directing Third Party Operations within the Contract and Commercial Division. In 2014, he was offered the position of Director Corporate Transportation for Sleepy's. In 2016, he became the VP of Operations for Sysco Foods, Southeast Florida. He was also the Chief Operating Officer for Pace Logistics, servicing the Northeast, Southeast, and Mid-West Markets.
Throughout his career, Kevin pursued his other passion of teaching undergraduate courses in Operations, International Business, Human Resources, Management, and Retail Operations for Johnson and Wales University and Dean College.
He is married to Michele (Costa) Proulx since 1982. They have two children. Ryan Proulx who is a Sergeant First Class in the US Army and Stephanie (Robitaille) Proulx who is an Equity Dance for Disney in Orlando. They have four grandchildren. Kevin's other pursuits are golf and visiting his grandchildren.
Director of Operations
Stalio Callas is the Director of Operations at Translogistix and comes to us with over 23 years of operations and distribution experience. Stalio received bachelor degrees in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Maryland and began his career in the wholesale distribution business as an owner/operator mastering all facets of the family owned business. During his time working in the family business, Stalio developed his passion for operations and focus on customer relationships. After negotiating the sale of his business, Stalio continued his career in operations in the wholesale produce and oil management industries receiving numerous operational performance and character awards. During his tenure as General Manager within these industries, Stalio assumed additional responsibilities focusing on organizational technological improvements and project management to support the growth and regulatory compliance of the organizations.
Stalio currently resides in Pasadena, Maryland with his wife and has two children attending out of state colleges. When not focused on operations, Stalio enjoys spending time with his family, working out, watching college football and NASCAR.
Samantha graduated magna cum laude from the University of Baltimore in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science. She started working for a natural market during college and quickly moved up from customer service to product management of the second highest volume store in the company. After five and a half years, she began looking for a career change and her expertise with invoicing and data analysis led her to Translogistix where she started as the company’s first Administrative Assistant. After a year and a half, she transitioned to the role of Business Manager, overseeing many different aspects of the business. In her free time, Samantha is an avid animal lover and enjoys spending time with her husband, Julian, and their cat, Habibi.
Nick started in the transportation industry in July 1990 with Overnite Transportation, a non-union LTL carrier in Baltimore, Md. He was hired as a billing clerk and over the next 2 years worked numerous office positions until he was promoted to dock supervisor in 1992 in Landover, Md. In 1994, Nick was promoted again to hub supervisor in Wallingford, Ct. Overnite brought Nick back to Baltimore in 1995 as the operations manager of their 122 door Baltimore facility. The following year, Nick was made Terminal Manager in Manassas, Va., where he stayed for the next 3 years.
In 1999 Nick spent time with American Freightways and Watkins Motor Lines, both non-union LTL carriers located in Baltimore and Manassas. From 2003-2006 he worked in operations management for New Penn Motor Express, a unionized LTL carrier in Baltimore.
2006 saw an expansion of horizons as Nick switched to Bond Transfer, a Baltimore based TL carrier. HIs duties were fairly diverse including dispatching, customer service, operations management, and logistics. Bond closed their doors in 2008.
Nick then worked for American Expediting, a national expedited courier service, overseeing their Baltimore office for 2 years before an opportunity presented itself with Eastern Connection, the largest regional small package delivery company on the East Coast. Nick worked as general manager for the next 6 years.
Nick now help Translogistix thrive for the years to come.
Caytlyn has been in logistics for the last 5 years. Caytlyn started out as a dispatcher with Eastern Connection and within 2 years worked her way up to dispatch supervisor. Continuing to grow with the company, Caytlyn became the operations manager during her 4th year.
Caytlyn decided to look for opportunities to expand and joined Translogistix as a recruiter. I am enjoying my career change and am looking forward to my future with Translogistix.
Caytlyn is also a dog mom to a pug named Tucker who has a lot of personality. In her free time, when not chauffeuring her son or his friends around for sports, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
After graduating Towson University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Psychology, Amanda’s career path has focused primarily in retail, from pet care to dispensing eyeglasses. After working 3 years at Sam’s Club, she joined Translogistix as a Returns Representative, working in the warehouse. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, painting, and spending time with her fiancé, family & friends, and her cat.
Jessica’s bubbly personality, strong will, and self-motivation led her in 12 years as a Customer Service Representative. It wasn’t until I entered into the amazing world of Logistics that she was truly inspired. Learning the ropes at Falcon Express Couriers in 2009, she wore many hats at from CSR to Dispatcher to Account Supervisor. After six years with Falcon Jessica did some CSR work for Capital One Bank, and realized I missed the fast paced, and high-pressured world of dispatching. She started at Roto – Rooter dispatching, and worked for another local courier company for about a year and a half.
Jessica then came to Translogistix with a heart ready to serve and do her part to see this business at its highest potential. Her motto is: The best leaders were once the greatest servers.
Tarah started in the logistics field 9 years ago as a customer service representative. She quickly took over account management for Manna, AIT and Wayfair. Dispatching is a new and exciting challenge for Tarah.
During her free time she loves going to the beach or long walks with her children.
Business Development Manager
Ron Thomas, has been part of the Translogistix family for more than 5 years with 2 years at TL Transportation. Ron’s experience is replete in the supply chain industry. He is well versed in warehousing, sales, overall transportation operations, as well as project management initiatives.
Most notably, Ron increased sales by $3 million for the small package business. Relative to operations, he lead a team of 50 drivers in various transportation hubs supporting key accounts such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Sally’s Beauty, and Pitney Bowes.
Through his leadership and direction, Ron increased profits by 35%. As the Regional Fleet Manager for TL Transportation, he negotiated favorable agreements with Hertz, Ryder, Penske, and Enterprise. Most recently Ron rejoined the Translogistix team and is leading the Sales Team with significant incremental growth through his partnership with operations.
Business Development Manager
A veteran marketing, sales and brand management executive, Adam brings more than 20 years of diverse business experience to his role at Translogistix.
His strategic thinking, creativity and customer-service orientation have consistently contributed to the growth and success of complex businesses in the United states.
His experience as a U.S. Marine and his naturally curious, creative, and insightful openness to every challenge makes him a highly-skilled problem solver who advocates for simplification in the processes in which he is involved.
